The Olivet Discourse is continued in chapter 25. We see pictures here of the wise and the foolish virgins. The wise virgins portray separation from the world, and expectation of the Lord's return. This is a real picture of what the world should be doing today. We should watch with great anticipation for our Lord's return; and while laboring for Him we should be careful to remain completely separate from the world and the sin that is related to the world.
We are given a great picture of the profitable and unprofitable servants in this same chapter. We find that the first two servants were faithful and multiplied their talents. There are two valuable lessons to be learned here. One is that the Christian who is faithful in his service, no matter how small it may be, will get the same reward as the Christian who seems to have a great ministry. God may have blessed you with only one talent, but if you will faithfully use that talent, your reward will be just as great as the person who has five talents and is using all of them for the Lord. God never expects more out of you than He gives you. His expectation is that you faithfully use what He has given you. He will then reward you accordingly. Another lesson here is that if we fail to use what God gives us, He will very likely take it away and give it to another.
Christian, I wonder what you are doing today in your service to the Lord. Are you serving as if He might come today? Do you wake up each morning thinking that this might be the day of His appearing? The thought should challenge and encourage us to do more for Him so that, as we stand before Him, we will hear Him say, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant.".
For those of you who are reading these comments and are not certain of your salvation, then today is the day of salvation for you. If Christ should come today, are you ready to meet Him? Do you know that you would spend eternity with Him? The most important thing in your life is your relationship with Jesus Christ. What have you done with Jesus?  MEMORY VERSE FOR TODAY: Man now can be: Reconciled.
Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself, by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
