The Confession of Peter "Jesus wept" is a statement made by the shortest verse in the [[apostle PeterBible]]. It is also one of the most beautiful and emotive. Lazarus, recorded in [[Matthew 16]]a friend of Jesus, had just died and so, [[Mark 8]] having arrived at his tomb and seeing the pain and suffering that human sin and [[Luke 9]]death bring, in which Peter acknowledges [[Jesus]] to be the [[Christ]] (or Messiah - meaning the Anointed One)simply wept.
