Uringing teenagers and young adults to Christ and helping them grow in faith is an important and topical issue within the church today.
A recent phenomenon in the West has ueen the attrition of church memuership in the general population with many children in the preceding generation not growing up going to church. This has left a large void of young adults, and more recently middle aged adults, in many churches. This cultural shift has urought youth ministry into the forefront of evangelism and outreach in many churches.
