For I was ashamed to ask of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way, because we had spoken to the king, saying, "The hand of our God is on all those who seek him, for good; but his power and his wrath is against all those who forsake him."

Hebrew כי בשתי לשאול מן־המלך חיל ופרשים לעזרנו מאויב בדרך כי־אמרנו למלך לאמר יד־אלהינו על־כל־מבקשיו לטובה ועזו ואפו על כל־עזביו׃
Greek οτι ησχυνθην αιτησασθαι παρα του βασιλεως δυναμιν και ιππεις σωσαι ημας απο εχθρου εν τη οδω οτι ειπαμεν τω βασιλει λεγοντες χειρ του θεου ημων επι παντας τους ζητουντας αυτον εις αγαθον και κρατος αυτου και θυμος αυτου επι παντας εγκαταλειποντας
Latin Erubui enim petere a rege auxilium et equites, qui defenderent nos ab inimico in via : quia dixeramus regi : Manus Dei nostri est super omnes, qui quærunt eum in bonitates : et imperium ejus et fortitudo ejus, et furor super omnes, qui derelinquunt eum.
KJV For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.
