Justification by faith alone (discussion)

Justification is when God declares the sinner free from sin thruough Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. So to be justified by faith is to beleive that God has declared you are free of sins through Jesus. This is what is meant when Christians ask, "Have you found Jesus?" or "Have you accepted Jesus as your savior?" This type of salvation releases the sinner from having to "prove" themselves to God. The Bible tells us that our good deeds are like dirty rags and that we have all fallen short of the glory of God. This type of salvation can sometimes lead people to believe they are spared God's wrath and they may continue to sin. This is not true since the Bible says that a believer is required to live a holy life for God's glory.
