I would like to nominate the prayer of [http://christianity.about.com/od/prayersinthebible/qt/prayerofjabez.htm Jabez] once we all agree and create the template etc. These prayers do not need to be from the Bible. The change is due in November so......Maybe we should put it off to January, in order to start even (since we change every six months). idk Maybe we should change as soon as you're done, and then change again in January. idk But Skillet rocks so I can't wait. Man, we've got some new contributors, mainly JMAS. He's uploading song clips and editing album articles. He has a collection of over 1500 albums of which 85% are CCM!!! Well ttyl. God bless. Stephen was a Christian whose story is told in the [[Book of Acts]]. He was stoned to death because of accusations of blasphemy, described in [[Acts 7]]. The [[apostle Paul]] (Saul) was present at Stephen's death, giving approval to it. Following his death, which probably occurred some time around [[33 AD]], the Jews of the early church became dispersed throughout Judea, Samaria and their Diaspora homelands, taking the gospel with them.

===Speech===

After Stephen was accused of blasphemy he was brought before the Sanhedrin, where he gave a speech in his defence. Key features of this speech include the Jewish leaders' ongoing rejection of God's prophets throughout Israel's history, culminating now in their rejection of Jesus, God's righteous one. Stephen reveals in his speech his understanding that God does not live in man-made buildings, but inside the heart of man.

===Death of Stephen===
Stephen was stoned to death.

===After-effects of Stephen's death===

Acts reveals that great persecution arose after Stephen's death. Saul (later the [[apostle Paul]]) was one of the main perpetrators of this violence. Believers (probably predominantly Hellenistic Jews) left Jerusalem to escape the persecution, and the gospel travelled with them, for example, to cities such as [[Antioch]]. So this persecution resulted in expansion of the early church.

CityLife Church (CityLife), formerly Waverley Christian Fellowship (WCF) originated with a small group of people meeting together to learn about God. From this beginning in 1967, the church has grown and become home to hundreds of Christians from a variety of backgrounds, age groups and cultures.

The founding pastor of CityLife, Richard Holland, led the church as it gradually outgrew a number of different venues in the Waverley area. Richard, who is recognised for his tremendous faith and vision, was to see the realisation of his dream to establish a permanent home for the church when the present site was purchased in 1982 and building commenced. It was at this time that Kevin Conner and his family returned to Melbourne after 10 years in the USA. Kevin joined the church staff and together with Richard saw the church continue to grow.

In 1983, the Parkmore Full Gospel Church and its Christian School merged with WCF . Now known as Waverley Christian College and located on the church property, the school has grown and developed to become a vital part of the church's ministry.

In 1986, Richard Holland handed the church of approximately 600 people to Kevin Conner who took up the position as Senior Minister. Kevin is recognised internationally for his teaching ministry and has written many textbooks which have benefited both ministers and students. Under his leadership the church continued to expand, a variety of ministries were developed, four branch churches were commenced and the church building complex was further extended.

In February of 1995, Mark Conner, Kevin's son, was appointed Senior Minister. He has a strong preaching/teaching ministry and is a gifted musician and worship leader. Mark and the leadership team are committed to "raising up fervent followers of Jesus Christ who will reach out and impact communities, cities and nations for the kingdom of God".
Hi Kathleen. Thanks for you contributions. --[[User:Muser|Muser]] 03:38, 5 November 2007 (EST)

Hello Kathleen. It's nice to see a fellow Adelaidean editing at WikiChristian. Would you like put a link for your church in the [[Churches in Adelaide Index]] section? --[[User:Graham grove|Graham grove]] 03:54, 5 November 2007 (EST)

: (I read your reply to [[User:Graham grove|Graham grove]]). I agree, that the spam filter is a bit annoying isn't it? I'm not sure how to change it, but I guess we just work around it. I'm intrigued by your statement that "I am a Christian but I don't go to church because some people that go to church are hypocrites." - I'm not offended in any way, I'm just intrigued. Could you expand a little? --[[User:Muser|Muser]] 05:08, 5 November 2007 (EST)

Hi Kathleen. Thanks for your contributions so far. I notice that you removed some of the "red" links in different articles. I think that its worth keeping these red links in, because eventually they be editted and new pages will be created. So rather than removing red links, it may be better to add content to them. Oh, by the way, have you seen: [[WikiChristian:Beliefs]]? --[[User:Muser|Muser]] 15:16, 6 November 2007 (EST)

Hi. Yes I've seen the Vietnamese pages. Someone worked on them some time ago. I think they are passages from the Bible. I'm happy to leave it for the moment, and see if someone continues to work on it in the future. --[[User:Graham grove|Graham grove]] 14:21, 9 November 2007 (EST)

Thanks for putting all the clean-up tags. Unfortunately it still doesn't solve the problem. For example, I've deleted the givemepink page for About Moore College, but if you search for "Moore College" it still appears. The problem appears to be related to the single slash (/) and the double slash (//). --[[User:Muser|Muser]] 21:29, 10 November 2007 (EST)

Okay, I've worked out a way of getting rid of the files with the // as well. It takes a little time, but I'll get there over the next few weeks. --[[User:Muser|Muser]] 22:05, 10 November 2007 (EST)

Thanks by the way for the work you are doing. You might have noticed that there are different styles of pages. Currently we are working on changing all the pages to the standard style that is described at [[Wikichristian:Page Layout]]. We would love for you to help us change some of the older pages into this style. Note that this style is for the main article for a topic; it doesn't apply for opinion articles (see [[Wikichristian:Opinion articles]] for information about these). --[[User:Muser|Muser]] 22:18, 10 November 2007 (EST)
== Re: Vandalism Reverting ==

Hi Kathleen! Thanks for removing the vandalism of the funny looking animal-thing from those pages. Where do people come up with this stuff? Actually, a better question is ''why'' do they come up with it?

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that next time you revert vandalism, make sure you don't just blank the page; if you do that, then all the work previously made on that page will be erased, and someone has to go back and revert again to the last non-vandalised version. If only one vandal edit has been made to the page, just use the "undo" button found in the page's history. If two or more vandal edits have been made to the same page, then:

#Click "History" at the top of the article,
#Click the date of the last non-vandalised version,
#Click "edit the page" when the page opens,
#Type in an edit summary such as "reverted vandalism" and then click save.

Sorry I took so long in acting upon your message. To be honest, I didn't see it until just today. I can't think how I missed it, especially for so long. Instead of deleting [[Dead Sea]], I thought it would just be better to redirect it to [[Dead Sea (EBD)]]. And I left Graham Grove a reminder about your invitation. You still wanted me to, right? == Category Problem ==

Hi Kathleen,

Again, sorry for the delayed response :) I think the problem with the Template Category showing up on articles is because, since the whole template is transcluded, the categories are moved onto the articles as well. The way to fix it would be to go to the ''template'' page and put the following code around the category link:

<code><nowiki><noinclude>[[Catgeory:NAME]]</noinclude></nowiki></code>

Whatever is between the two "no include" tags will not be transcluded to the articles the template is used on. I tried it with [[WikiChristian:Video of the day]] and it worked; the main page is no longer in the video of the day category :)

Now, I know on your Wikipedia user page it says you do not want to be an admin, but I think you could really help out here with the extra tools (working on the protected templates, deleting all the spam articles you're always coming across, etc.). Would you like me to make you a sysop?

God bless! -- [[User:P.B. Pilhet|P.B. Pilhet]] / [[User talk:P.B. Pilhet|Talk]] 19:30, 20 May 2008 (PDT)

P.S. -- I moved the CKB article on [http://christianity.wikia.com/wiki/Bible_trivia Bible trivia] into Category:Bible.

:Okay, you're now an admin. The sysop tools are pretty straightforward and easy to use (and no, you don't have to read any specific policies). The only thing that may seem difficult at first is blocking; but if you follow the instructions at [[Special:Blockip]], you'll get it :) Reading the various admin-related pages on Wikipedia obviously couldn't ''hurt'', though. I'm not sure how to fix the template problem at the CKB, but I'll look into it. Anyways, thanks for those sites you recommended :)

:Feel free to protect any pages in your user-space if you want, except your talk, obviously :) And don't feel shy about using the sysop priviledges. If you make a mistake, it ''can'' be undone (contrary to what everyone on Wikipedia says, but what do they know?).

:God bless, [[User:P.B. Pilhet|P.B. Pilhet]] / [[User talk:P.B. Pilhet|Talk]] 02:26, 22 May 2008 (PDT)

:P.S. You don't need to bother with semi-protection, as IP's can't edit WikiChristian any more anyways.

::I can't seem to find a way around the category problem; first off, noincluding the templates doesn't seem to remove the articles from the categories (for some crazy reason), and second the articles' formatting gets all screwed up. I think we should just remove the Category:Template thing altogether. It's unfortunate, but I think it's the only thing to do. I've already tried every wiki formatting trick I know :( And yeah, if rollback will help speed up your various tasks, feel free to use it :) -- [[User:P.B. Pilhet|P.B. Pilhet]] / [[User talk:P.B. Pilhet|Talk]] 18:02, 22 May 2008 (PDT)
== Returnto ==

Hi Kathleen. Thanks for all your organizing work. Could you however please keep all the of the returnto sections at the end of a page. Remember that this is not wikipedia and has some differences. Take a look at [[Wikichristian.org:Page Layout]] section. Thanks. --[[User:Graham grove|Graham grove]] 01:01, 25 May 2008 (PDT)

: Hi Kathleen. I think the problem has been solved by putting the "noinclude" section into the return to template. I just edited [[A Mighty Stronghold is our God (song)]] - before I editted it, it was in the Categories:Template page, but after saving it, it no longer was. I think each page with "returnto" in it just needs to be resaved for it to disappear from the Categories:Template page. Hope this helps. Cheers. --[[User:Graham grove|Graham grove]] 03:12, 25 May 2008 (PDT)

==Congrats!==

...on blocking your first vandal :) Just one thing though, make sure that when you use a block template on the vandal's talk page that you "subst" the template. This puts less load on the server, and also enables the automatic signature feature to work in the template (so you don't have to sign any block templates). Thanks a ''bunch'' for all the cleanup you've been doing!!! It means so much to everyone at WikiChristian :) God bless! -- [[User:P.B. Pilhet|P.B. Pilhet]] / [[User talk:P.B.
:P.S. -- Particulary, thanks for removng the givemepink crap. I got your email, and yes, those redirects are very time-consuming and tiring to get rid of! :) -- 01:00, 6 June 2008 (PDT)
==Latest Vandalsim==

Hi Kathleen, don't bother using rollback on the latest vandalism ("love from ebaums"), because it will just revert to more vandalism. The vandal, whoever he is, is obviously using a script to vandalize an article with one account, then vandalize it again with another account, thus causing rollback to only revert to the first vandal edit. I'm going to go around other wikis and ask how we can prevent this from happening again. In the mean time, we just have a lot of boring manual reverting to do. -- [[User:P.B. Pilhet|P.B. You might want to look at [[Talk:Easton's Bible Dictionary‎]] and put your two cents worth in. By the way, this won't undo any of your work at all - because everything will be redirected; furthermore, eventually BotUm can redo the links that you've already done so they don't need to redirect. --[[User:Graham grove|Graham grove]] 14:38, 3 October 2008 (PDT)
Then, we can delete all the redirects. --[[User:Aquatiki|Aquatiki]] 20:47, 15 October 2008 (PDT)
By the way, by moving them, we won't lose any of the hard work you've done because of the automatic redirects that occur when you move a page. --[[User:Graham grove|Graham grove]] 12:14, 8 October 2008 (PDT)
Hi Kathleen. Since there are over 3,000 EBD pages, I've figured out that it will take a long time to move them all. If you, me and Aquatiki all moved 10 a day, then in 100 days we'd have them all moved. I'm going to start with the letter M (for no particular reason - purely random) and work from there. If you like to join me and choose another letter, go for it. Thanks. --[[User:Graham grove|Graham]] 06:47, 17 October 2008 (PDT)
== Importing ==
Hi Kathleen. Good work with everything you've been doing. When importing articles from other sources you might want to consider a few extra things - these are only suggestions: (1) rewording them so that they fit WikiChristian CPOV (2) reformatting the page so that it fits [[WikiChristian:Page Layout]] (3) adding a link in the appropriate page / index and add the <nowiki>{{returnto}}</nowiki> feature. == I may have made some mistakes ==

I was moving Greek:Name of page to Koine Greek:Name of page and I think I may have made some mistakes deleting some redirect pages to 'inflections' as on the [[WikiChristian:Clean-up]] page and that were on this page (now deleted completely) Special%3AAllpages&from=Wisdom+of+Solomon&namespace=102. I was trying to get them out of the Greek Bible Namespace - more also on following page written in Greek. See Deletion Log for today (November 18) for details. [[User:Kathleen.wright5|Kathleen.wright5]] 03:53, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

: No problems. It would probably be handy to hold off on doing any thing for the Greek stuff at the moment. Robert and I haven't quite figured out the best way to do the Greek stuff. I think in the end we were thinking of putting all of the individual Koine Greek words in the Greek name-space because they are probably the sort of articles that people who click on "Random page" don't want to come across - but I can see that that hasn't been updated into the Clean-up page. So don't worry about any of the Greek stuff - Robert and I will sort that out. And anything that has been lost is not a huge deal - so don't worry about that. But thanks for letting me know though. By the way, brilliant work on moving all of the EBD stuff. Well done. Thanks. --[[User:Graham grove|Graham]] 07:56, 18 November 2008 (PST)
We would love for you to help us change some of the older pages into this style. == Re: Vandalism Reverting ==

== Category Problem ==

==Latest Vandalsim==

Pilhet|P.B. == Thanks for clean, but did you know that ... ==

you don't have to bother with the verse pages (i.e. Ezra 7:1, etc.) or the text pages (Template:Mark 1:1 (WEB), etc.) if you don't want to, because they're about to be written over. [[User:BotUm]] is overwriting all of them but it will take the next fortnight to be all done. Keep going if you want to, but they're all gonna be gone or overwritten soon. Thanks for all your hard work! Respectfully, [[User:Aquatiki|Aquatiki]] 17:16, 7 August 2008 (PDT)
== EBD names ==

Hi Kathleen. You've been doing a great job on the Easton's Bible Dictionary pages. Well done and thank you.
: I see Graham has beaten me to the punch, but I wanted to let you know that I can redo all the links in EBD pages quite easily. I'll wait to a majority of pages are moved over, then I'll run it once. Then, after they're all over, I'll run it again. Then, we can delete all the redirects. --[[User:Aquatiki|Aquatiki]] 20:47, 15 October 2008 (PDT)
== Clean-up Project ==

Hi Kathleen. Thanks once again for the great work you have been doing with the Easton Bible Dictionary wikifying! You might want to take a look at [[WikiChristian:Clean-up]] to see some of the changes that are happening at WikiChristian at the moment. This especially concerns you because Easton Bible Dictionary pages are being moved. It'd be great if you would like to help out with the moving of these pages.
== Importing ==

Anyway, keep up the good work. --[[User:Graham grove|Graham]] 08:16, 22 October 2008 (PDT)

Kathleen, the recent edits to Bible verses marked with "manual revert - wikitable not right" don't appear to have had any positive effect. ::It's really weird. I can't see what's wrong with your edit, and can see no significant difference between your and earlier versions that worked.

I believe that the Bible is composed only of the 66 Protestant canon books. All other books are heretical in my opinion. I personally don't see why people get confused on this subject. It's rather simple if you study the origins and backgrounds of other "Christian texts" and their authors.

==Catholicism==

==Jehova's Withesses==
This ones not hard to defute. The New World Translation (Jehova's Witnesses Bible) was translated by the Watchtower, a religious leadership committee for the denomination. The translators claimed to have translated the texts directly from the original Greek and Hebrew texts. However, the group's translators were tested, and they failed to even know a single letter in the Greek alphabet. That right there should tell you their Bible is not trustworthy, not to mention it contradicts itself numerous times in order to defend the denomination's false doctrines.

==Mormons==
This one's pretty easy too. Mr. Mormon claimed to have had a revelation from God that told him to write the Book of Mormon. That right there proves him wrong as the Bible states in Revelation that no man is to add or take away from the Bible. Therefore God would not contradict Himself and ask Mormon to add to the Bible. Also, many of the doctrines found in the Book of Mormon completely abolish many foundational Christian beliefs (such as the deity of Christ and the fact that we can never be equal to Jesus). So, this "new testament of Jesus" is completely untrustworthy.

==Orthodox==

==Pentocostals==

==Protestants==
It is unfortunate that Christians continue to confuse the lost and dying world with our numerous translations of the Bible. I believe that if most Protestant knew where most modern translations came from, they'd quickly deny them. However, many Christians just assume that if it's called a Bible, then it must be inspired.

I believe homosexuality is a sin condemned by the Bible. I must disagree with Justin Matas' [[Christianity and Homosexuality (Pilhet)|opinion]] on the subject. I believe that God does directly take a part in creating each of us at conception. To say He doesn't is the same as saying He doesn't interact with any of His creation. It is as if your saying He has nothing to do with any of creation besides having created it. That's totally against Christian doctrine. This in turn means that God does not make gay people at birth, thus changing my entire point of view. I believe that not only the act of gay sex, but also the act of having affection towards one's own gender is a sin. This by no means that gays can't be Christian, just that they have a sin they need to repent of (as we all do). I hate homosexuality, but I don't hate homosexuals. The only things we are to hate are things from the devil himself. I believe gays should be allowed in the Church, but they should not be in any position of office as I believe they are not spiritually fit to hold the office. Few people are, gay or straight. I disagree with allowing gays to marry. First off, it's not Biblical marriage, and second off, it gives them the legal encouragement to have sex. Thus I am against same sex marriage.
Amy Lee Grant (born November 25, 1960 in Augusta, Georgia) is an American songwriter whose music has strong Christian themes.

Grant made her debut in 1977 as a teenager.

In 1982, she released her breakthrough album, [[Age to Age]], which would become the first Contemporary Christian music album to be certified platinum.

Also in 1982, she married her song-writer first husband, Gary Chapman.

By 1985, her music began to reach a wider audience, as her album [[Unguarded]] crossed over onto mainstream charts. This feat was reproduced in 1991 when her album [[Heart In Motion]] became a best-seller and the single "Baby Baby" became a number one hit.

Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, Grant continued to record pop-oriented albums.

Grant and Chapman separated and divorced in 1999.

In 2000 Grant married Vince Gill, who had divorced country singer Banis Gill of Sweethearts of the Rodeo.

Grand made a return to gospel music until 2002, with the record Legacy...Hymns and Faith. In 2006, Grant hosted her own reality television show on NBC, called Three Wishes.

As of 2007, Grant remains the best-selling [[Contemporary Christian music]] singer, having sold over 25 million records worldwide, and Heart in Motion is the best-selling Christian music album as well, matching sales of 5 million.
Michael W. Smith is a well known Christian singer and song-writer. He was born in 1957 in [[West Virginia]]. Some of his well known songs include [[Healing Rain (song)|Healing Rain]] and [[Missing Person (song)|Missing Person]].

Since his first solo project in 1983, Smith has become one of the most popular artists in the [[Contemporary Christian Music]] world, while also finding considerable success in the mainstream. Smith has frequently topped both Christian radio and Billboard charts, and is often listed as one of the top keyboardists in rock and roll in Keyboard Magazine. Smith had sold more than seven million records and had 25 #1 hit songs. By 2003, he had 10 gold records and 3 platinum records.

By the time Smith graduated from high school, he had found himself with serious drug and alcohol abuse problems. Nevertheless, he was able to get through a couple of years of college and develop his songwriting skills with various local bands. In October of 1979, Smith suffered an emotional and mental breakdown that awakened a recommitment to the Christian beliefs of his childhood. He cleaned up his substance abuse problem and began playing keyboards for the CCM group, [[Higher Ground]].

In 1981, Smith was signed as a writer to Meadowgreen Music, where he racked up a number of highly successful gospel hits penned for artists like [[Sandi Patty]], [[Kathy Troccoli]], [[Bill Gaither]] and [[Amy Grant]]. The following year, Smith began touring as a keyboardist for Grant on her Age to Age tour. He would eventually become Grant's opening act, and recorded his first Grammy nominated solo album, Michael W. Smith Project (which he also produced), in 1983, on the Reunion label, a label started by Grant's brother-in-law, Dan Harrell, along with Michael Blanton.

By the time Smith's second pop album was released in 1984, he was headlining his own tours. In 1986, Smith released the critically acclaimed rock effort The Big Picture, with well known record producer Johnny Potoker (Brian Eno, Genesis, Madonna, No Doubt, Talking Heads, etc).

After the release of his 1988 effort, I 2 eye, Smith once again teamed up with Amy Grant for her "Lead Me On World Tour". The following year, Smith recorded his first Christmas album.

In 1990, Smith released Go West Young Man, which was his first real mainstream effort. That album was followed by 1992's Change Your World, 1995's I'll Lead You Home and 1998's Live The Life. Also in 1998, Smith released his second Christmas effort, Christmastime. In 1999, Smith released This Is Your Time, largely inspired by the Columbine shootings. Smith had been asked to perform at some of the memorial services that were held in honor of the victims, which made a huge impression on Smith.

In 1996, Smith opened his own record label (although he does not record on it), Rocketown Records, named for a teen club which he established for Christian youth in the Nashville area. He states the label is driven by the artists, and one of its first artists signed was Chris Rice, who had written "Go Light Your World," a #1 hit song by Kathy Troccoli, in 1995.

Nearly all of Smith's albums contain at least one instrumental track, and in 2000, Smith recorded his first all instrumental album, Freedom. The following year, Smith released an all praise and worship album, called Worship, which was followed by a sequel, Worship Again. Both albums were recorded live in concert. A Worship Again DVD was released in 2002, which immediately topped the Billboard video charts.

After two decades, Smith finally won the coveted Male Vocalist of the Year award at the [[Dove Awards]] in 2003.

Smith's latest album, "Healing Rain" was released in 2004. It combines the pop style of his previous recordings with the praise and worship feel of his two releases in that genre. The title track was the first released as a single, and Smith has recently recorded a music video to coincide with the song.

{{YouTube Video|youtube=8MEeAzH6IgA|title=Amazing Grace - Truly Beautiful Version|}}

Amazing Grace is probably one of the best known [[hymn]]s in the world today. It is especially popular in the [[United States]]. The words tell of the [[grace]] of [[God]] - the gift of forgiveness and life that he gives to us freely.

The hymn was written by [[John Newton]], an English man who was born in 1725. As a young man he was captain of a ship that was used for slave-trading. During one voyage he cried out to God for mercy as the ship was tossed about in a storm. His ship was spared and John Newton began his walk towards [[Christ]]. He continued to be a slave trader for some years but there was a slow transformation and within the next 20 years Newton had given up this life and had become the parish priest of Olney, a village near London. Whilst here he wrote the the words to the famous hymn, Amazing Grace.

===Words===

<pre>
Amazing grace (how sweet the sound)
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now am found
Was blind but now I see

It was grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed

Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already overcome
It was grace that led me safe thus far
And grace will bring me home

When we've been there a thousand years
Bright shining as the sun
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we first begun
"Jesus Freak" is a well known Christian song by [[dc Talk]]. It is one of their most well-known songs. The song is about the 1970's generic term which was meant to insult [[Christian]]s. dc Talk frontman [[Toby McKeehan]] said that when he was looking up the word "freak" in the dictionary, he saw an entry that said "ardent enthusiast".

===Lyrics===

What will people think
When they hear that I’m a Jesus freak?
What will people do
When they find that’s it’s true?

Separated, I cut myself clean
From a past that comes back in my darkest of dreams
Been apprehended by a spiritual force
And a grace that replaced all the me I’ve divorced

I saw a man with tat on his big fat belly
It wiggled around like marmalade jelly
It took me a while to catch what it said
Cause I had to match the rhythm
Of his belly with my head
’Jesus saves’ is what it raved in a typical tattoo green
He stood on a box in the middle of the city
And claimed he had a dream

What will people think
When they hear that I’m a Jesus freak?
What will people do
When they find that’s it’s true?
What will people think
When they hear that I’m a Jesus freak
What will people do when they find that it’s true
I don’t really care if they label me a Jesus freak
There ain’t no disguising the truth

Kamikaze, my death is gain
I’ve been marked by my maker
A peculiar display
The high and lofty, they see me as weak
Cause I won’t live and die for the power they seek
There was a man from the desert with naps in his head
The sand that he walked was also his bed
The words that he spoke made the people assume
There wasn’t too much left in the upper room
With skins on his back and hair on his face
They thought he was strange by the locusts he ate
The pharisees tripped when they heard him speak
Until the king took the head of this Jesus freak

What will people think
When they hear that I’m a Jesus freak?
What will people do
What will people do when they find that it’s true
I don’t really care if they label me a Jesus freak
There ain’t no disguising the truth
People say I’m strange, does it make me a stranger
That my best friend was born in a manger
People say I’m strange, does it make me a stranger

Whitecross is a [[Christian metal]] band that formed in [[1986]] in [[Chicago]], releasing their first recording the following year. Their early albums, which often invite comparisons to [[Ratt]], are laced with fast, technical [[electric guitar|guitar]] work. With the departure of guitarist [[Rex Carroll]] in [[1992]], the band's sound underwent a drastic change; so much so that many Whitecross fans show a strong preference for either the earlier or later work exclusively.
Whitecross has won three [[Dove Award]]s: two for "Hard music album of the year" with ''Triumphant Return'' (in [[1990]]) and ''In the Kingdom'' (in [[1992]]); and one for "Come unto the Light" from the ''Unveiled'' album, which won "Hard music recorded song of the year" in [[1995]].

In [[1998]], singer Scott Wenzel took a two-year break to do [[missionary|mission]] work in [[South America]], and Whitecross was placed on hiatus. Little happened with the band for seven years, except for a couple of reunion [[gig]]s featuring both Wenzel and Carroll in [[2002]].

In 2005, Scott and Rex reunited to record ''Nineteen Eighty Seven'', which featured re-recordings of nine of the ten songs from their self-titled debut (''You're Mine'' being the exclusion), as well as a re-recording of the song ''Love on the Line'' (previously unavailable on CD) and a new guitar instrumental song by Rex Carroll.

There are plans to record new material for CD release as well as a possibility of Rex doing a guitar solo CD.
Underoath is an American Rock band based in [[Tampa]], [[Florida]]. They are currently signed to Tooth&Nail/Solid State Records. Though the band's musical style was Deathcore, it has changed substantially since its inception in 1998. The sextet now plays a brand of hard music combining elements of Metalcore, Screamo, Emocore, and Post Hardcore. Although Underoath is a Christian band, they are popular among secular audiences and have stated that they would rather talk about their faith in God offstage.

Hawk Nelson is a punk band hailing from Peterborough, Ontario. The band has become popular on the Christian music scene and also The Secular rock scene, and was voted "Favorite New Artist" by CCM Magazine in their February 2006 Reader's Choice Awards.

The band played independently in Ontario for a few years before they signed with Tooth & Nail Records, largely on the recommendation of Trevor McNevan, the lead singer of fellow Tooth & Nail band Thousand Foot Krutch. McNevan, also from Peterborough, is credited with discovering the band. In July of 2004, Hawk Nelson released their major label debut Letters to the President. It was produced by Aaron Sprinkle and McNevan, who also co-wrote nine of the album's fourteen songs. They won GMA Canada Covenant Award [1] for Modern Rock/Alternative Album of the Year in 2006.

The band has achieved some success in the mainstream as well. They portrayed The Who on an episode of the NBC drama American Dreams, and they recorded a song named "Bring 'Em Out" for the 2005 motion picture Yours, Mine, and Ours. "Things We Go Through" from Letters to the President was also featured in Yours, Mine, and Ours.

In October of 2005, the band re-released Letters to the President, with new material including their cover of The Who's My Generation, three acoustic versions of some of their hits, and a limited edition cover.

The band released their second studio album, titled Smile, It's The End of the World, on April 4th, 2006. The song "Is Forever Enough", featured the guest voice of Trevor McNevan. The album's first single, "Everything You Ever Wanted", went on to hit #1 for 9 weeks on the R&R Christian CHR chart, and was the fourth most played song of 2006. <ref>As played on the January 7 2007 Weekend 22</ref> The band spent the summer of 2006 touring the major Christian music festivals, and also took part in Jeremy Camp's Beyond Measure tour. Hawk Nelson released a 3-track Christmas EP titled Gloria on November 21, 2006, and in winter of that year they toured with tobyMac's Winter Wonder Slam tour along with The Afters, Family Force Five, and Ayiesha Woods.
'''Demon Hunter''' is a Christian Metalcore band from Seattle, Washington started by brothers Don and Ryan Clark.

Demon Hunter has a number of musical influences including metal staples such as Sepultura and Machine Head. These influences are evident in the more aggressive, traditional metal instrumental and vocal parts of their music. Their vocal style has been compared to the band Slipknot's because of vocalist Ryan Clark's growling, rap-like delivery. The more melodic moments in their music have been compared to the "softer" side of bands like Killswitch Engage or As I Lay Dying.
Switchfoot first gained mainstream recognition after the inclusion of four of their songs in the 2002 movie A Walk to Remember.
