I believe that this is a title that should be reserved for God the Father only...<br /> <br /> <br /> ----<br /> <br /> <br /> Nope... Not at all odd. He is God's representitive on earth, hence being called the holy father (as in: on earth).<br /> <br /> <br /> ----<br /> <br /> <br /> My hope is that the next pope is a man whose overwhelming primary aim is to spread the message of the Gospel - that God loves us so much that he would send his only Son to die on the Cross for our forgiveness. I hope that he does not put emphasis on saints and Mary, or papal infallibility and primacy, nor purgatory or prayers for the dead.
