Foxe's Book of Martyrs
Title page of the 1563 edition:
of these latter and perillous dayes,
touching matters of the Church….
according to the … wrytinges … of the parties them selves that suffered, as also out of the Bishops Registers, which were the doers therof….
Bishop Latimer to Dr Ridley, at their execution:
- The witness of Christians who were persecuted under King Henry VIII (1509–1547) and Queen Mary Tudor (1553–1558), described by a contemporary.
- Relevant editions were published in 1559 (Latin, Switzerland), 1563 (first English edition), 1570, 1576, 1583.
Nonetheless, the 1559 version gives substantial coverage of the persecution under Mary Tudor; for example Latimer, perhaps the most famous of the martyrs, is mentioned more frequently - average per page - in the 1559 version[2] than in the 1641 edition[3]; another example is that much of the 1559 edition starting at the page numbered 230 deals with the reign of Mary Tudor, that is, 67% of the pages[4]; further, the 1559 edition only has four illustrations, of which the third shows the martyrdom of Bishop Hooper in 1555 and the fourth shows Archbishop Cranmer, in 1556, being burnt alive.
- John Foxe had been a Fellow of Magdalen College Oxford (pronounced Mordlin College) 1538/9 to 1545.
- Details of trials, accounts of martyrdoms, letters from gaol, etc.
- Foxe often names his sources.
- Adult material.

Testing another video embedding script
I just installed a new video extension that is far simpler than the previous one and works with multiple video formats such as youtube, google videos, dailymotion etc.
Here is an example of the code!
Youtube Original url: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lhyH5TsuPg
Wiki code:
<videoflash>4lhyH5TsuPg</videoflash> or (with width and height):
<videoflash>WZpeeRSk-0A|200|100</videoflash>
[edit] GoogleVideo Original url: http://video.google.it/videoplay?docid=1811233136844420765
Wiki code:
<videoflash type="googlevideo">1811233136844420765</videoflash> or (with width and height):

According to scientists, the Sun is pretty big.[5] The Moon, however, is not so big.[6]

Getting rid of these from categoriesIt is quite difficult to get rid of the pages entitled something http://www.gimepink.com from the various categories, because for some reason they are redrected to http:/www.gimepink.com - that is only one backslash instead of two. But, I've worked out a way of getting rid of them completely... Photo galleries
