Christians believe that people who have faith in [[Christ]] will live eternally with [[God]] after they die - this is [[heaven]] or [[eternal life]]. [[Hell]] is the opposite - it is eternal separation from God; some Christians believe this is a place of eternal torment, whereas others believe that it is a state of non-existence. [[Purgatory]] is a doctrine unique to [[Roman Catholicism]] - it teaches that Christians are first purified and punished in a place called purgatory before they can be presented to God in heaven. This doctrine is denied by all other Christian [[denominations]].
