Church of the East

851 bytes removed, 08:32, 13 October 2006
''In brief, '' the Church of the East is a Christian denominational body that traces its origins back to the early church. It sometimes calls itself the Assyrian Orthodox Church, but should not be confused with the distinct Syrian Orthodox Church, which is an Eastern oriental body. It is often known as the Nestorian Church, but its theology is not nestorian. Today there are perhaps 500,000 members, mostly in Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Syria, USA, and India.  ----  '''Overviews'''* #REDIRECT [[An overview of the history of the Church of the East]]  '''Opinions / articles'''* [[Comments about the Assyrian Church of the East]]  '''Quotes'''* [[Quotes about the Church of the East]]  '''Texts'''* [[The Truth About the Christian Faith (Mar Odisho, 1298 C.E.)]]  '''External links'''* [http://www.nestorian.org/index.html Nestorian.org website]  ----  Return to [[Denominations: Miscellaneous topics]]
