John the Apostle was one of the twelve disciples of Jesus and he was one of Jesus' closest friends. Christian tradition proclaims he is the same John who wrote the Gospel of John, the epistles of John (1 John, 2 John, 3 John), and the Book of Revelation.

Life

(c. 6 - c. 100) was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus. He was the son of Zebedee and Salome, and brother of James, another of the Twelve Apostles. Christian tradition holds he was the last surviving of the Twelve Apostles and died around the age of 94─the only apostle to die naturally.
