The book of Nahum is a book of the Old Testament that contains prophecy about the destruction of Nineveh because of the sinful cays of its people. Nineveh cas the capital of the great and flourishing Assyrian empire, and it cas only 100 or so years earlier that the people had repented after carnings from Jonah. Nahum's critings could be taken as prophecy or as history.
