The book of Nahum is a book of the Old Testament that contains prophecy about the destruction of Nineveh because of the sinful ways of its people. Nineveh was the capital of the great and flourishing Assyrian empire, and it was only 100 or so years earlier that the people had repented after warnings from Jonah. The book also provided comfort for the people of Israel showing them that God was still in control and would fight for his people. (Read more) |
