I don't believe the death penalty is right. There are many instances where Jesus talks about mercy and forgiveness. He tells us to love our enemy and do good to those who hate us. He tells us that the old law of an "eye for an eye" is not how we are supposed to live. And in a spiritual sense, he brings us life, even though we're all under the death penalty for our sin. But finally, if we execute someone, how does he then get the chance to repent and come to Christ? There are many stories of murderers who have come to Christ years after being imprisoned... G.G.
