Greek Orthodox Church

The Greek Orthodox Church or Greek Church is the Eastern Orthodox Church in Greece.

It traces its roots to the time of Byzantine Empire.

The ecumenical patriarch of Constantinople was the administrator of the church during the time of the Byzantine Empire.

This was maintained for the church even during the time of the rule of the Islamic Ottoman Empire.

Today, it is the established church of Greece.
