Modern usage: Added a fact about Latin
==Modern usage==
Today, [[Vatican City]] recognizes the language as one of its official languages. However, this is not to say that the [[Holy See]] holds the language as 'sacred' because it does not. It is the only nation with Latin as an official language and also the only nation with Latin spoken at a regular interval.

Latin has since evolved into various languages. As of 2020, 36% of the world population uses the Latin script. Among the languages that came from Latin are English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, and far much more.
