Accolades For Lloyd Mackey
Accolades For Lloyd Mackey
Lloyd Mackey is a man who long ago understood that newspapers have a vital role to play in linking Christians in ministry and purpose. The fact is, no one has done more to advance the development of Christian newspapers than Lloyd Mackey. In this realm he has been a real pioneer; a trailblazer. Some 22 years ago he served as the founding editor of B.C. Christian News (arguably the best Christian community newspaper in North America) and has been involved in the startup of several others, including the Ottawa paper, which is now part of the ChristianCurrent chain. I was especially pleased to be part of a public opportunity to honour Lloyd for the longevity of his vision, the perseverance of his personal commitment and his indomitable spirit. - Doug Koop, Editor of ChristianWeek <http://www.christiancurrent.com/ontario/ottawa2004/december/mackey.htm>

"I enjoyed your friendship over the years and particularly appreciated your commitment to keeping the Christian community informed about events and trends in the secular world. You have sincerely attempted, and succeeded, in bringing knowledge and understanding where it did not exist." - Preston Manning, Founder of the Reform Party

Lloyd Mackey's personal reflections and engaging style bring to life the ins and outs of Christian politics in Ottawa and beyond."Janet Epp Buckingham, Director, Law and Public Policy The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada"Free from the fetters of the secular media and directly from the Press Gallery in Ottawa, insider Lloyd Mackey shows how Christians in the public square really wrestle with political ideologies and realities. This book is also a clarion and much needed call for Christians to support the unsung labours of Christ's ambassadors on Parliament Hill." - Don Page Senior Fellow at Trinity Western University Professor Emeritus in the Master of Arts in Leadership Program

On Lloyd Mackey's book. More Faithful Than We Think, "More Faithful will open many eyes to the work of Christ's followers in contemporary public life, both in Ottawa and at various points across the country. - Hon. David Kilgour, MP Edmonton—Mill Woods—Beaumont

"A unique insider view of a creative mixture of politics and religion in Canada, by a Christian journalist who knows his way around the Hill and who writes in a finely balanced and trustworthy way. Unique, because this is one of a kind. No one else is writing in this particular arena in our country today." - Dr. Allen Churchill, Chairman, 1998 Billy Graham Mission National Capital Region

"I know the personal sacrifice you have made in pursuit of your dream. Your reputation is strong, your witness clear, your contribution to Christian faith remarkable." - Brian Stiller, President of Tyndale University College & Seminary

Lloyd Mackey's new book "More Faithful Than We Think: Stories and Insights on Canadian Leaders Doing Politics Christianly" captures Mackey's conversational style, revealing interesting tidbits of information about politicians and various leaders and how their faith informs their politics. - Deborah Gyapong ChristianCurrent October 2005 <http://www.christiancurrent.com/ontario/2005/october/mackey.htm
