The "Sign of the Cross" is a ceremonial hand motion made by many of the world's Christians. For many Christians the motion symbolizes the Cross on which Jesus died.
The motion is made by tracing the shape of the cross in the air or on one's own body. Some Christians sign four points to signify loving God with all one's heart, soul, mind and strength. The Sign of the Cross is also a prayer, and most Christians recite the Sign of the Cross by saying, "In the name of the father, and of the son, and of the holy spirt. Amen".
