In brief: The Passion of the Christ (2004) is an independent film about the last twelve hours of the life of Jesus Christ. Mel Gibson directed. The film’s dialogue is in Latin, Hebrew, and Aramaic, which was probably Jesus' mother tongue. There are English subtitles. It was filmed on location in Matera, Italy and Cinecittà Studios, Rome, Italy.
