Where I am coming from?
I am coming from an evangelical, born-again, follower of Jesus Christ, the same Jesus as Billy Graham/the Bible, point of view ;-). That's the shortest one sentence description I could come up with, hehe. Anyways, why do I say this? I say this because there is much confusion in today's world on what being a Christian means or is. You state that you are from a Catholic background. In today's world, I would highly recommend not trusting the statements of some group as to whether they say they are "Christian" or not, but read the Bible for yourself and "...hold fast to that which is good" (1 Thessalonians 5:21). There are many organizations that have christian-sounding terminology, but their underlying motives are not Biblical. After all, the whole idea of Christianity came from the Bible, so that is the ultimate source ;-).

With something so important as your eternal destiny, I would say it is extremely important in today's relativistic culture to know for sure what you believe. It is also important to be able to sort through the fallacies of each false belief system. Also, don't take my word for it, read the scriptures for yourself. I will try to point out various verses as I go.

I don't have time at the moment to ask my own questions, but I would encourage you to read over the recommended reading and make comments and questions about it. --Tom 11:06, 23 February 2007 (EST)
