This page and its ideas are under construction as Prab and Graham think and pray about getting WikiChristian up and running again.

Co-ordinating Editors role:

  • To write original content for his/her area of special interest / expertise
  • To monitor and when necessary adjust new content and edits being created by others in his/her area of special interest / expertise
  • To aim to ensure that content is:
    • Well organized
    • Well written
    • Written from both a kind and compassionate viewpoint as well as a viewpoint of truth and trust in the Gospel; in particular the content should fit the overall style and feel of WikiChristian and be in line with its statement of faith and vision; the content should not set out to offend or be divisive but it should also not try to hide Biblical truth; it should be written with humility with acknowledgement that there are shades of gray and varying opinions
    • Not overly technical in language; able to be understood by the intelligent layman, but also useful to a student of theology
    • Encouraging to faith and discipleship
    • Accurate
    • Relevant
    • Detailed

Major areas needing one or two co-ordinating editors:

  • New Testament studies, particularly focussing on: books of the New Testament, major themes of the New Testament, the life and teaching of Jesus, the historical context of the time
  • Old Testament studies, particularly focussing on: books of the Old Testament, major themes of the Old Testament, the patriarchs and the ancient nation of Israel and the historical contexts of and significant events in the Ancient Near East
  • Church history and [Denominations]], particularly focussing on: major trends and events in church history, both the good work of the church as well as the times it failed to faithfully represent Jesus, denominational developments and differences and significant figures in church history and the spread of Christianity
  • Koine Greek language studies, focussing on both lessons for the student of Greek and a comprehensive dictionary to hep those learning translation
  • Biblical Hebrew language studies focussing on both lessons for the student of Hebrew and a comprehensive dictionary to help those learning translation
  • Doctrine and Theology studies, particularly focussing on: the nature and character of God and his church and other key issues of Christian theology and different understandings and opinions on major denominational doctrines
  • Mission and Evangelism studies, particularly focussing on: Christian News, understanding other religions and how to connect with people of different world-views, current day persecution of the Christians, demographic and relevant history of countries and regions around the world and apologetics
  • Christian Music, particularly focussing on: developing a database of Christian songs and their lyrics and links to youtube videos
  • Bible Commentary
    • Many people will need to be involved in developing a comprehensive Bible commentary, looking at individual verses and whole chapters
    • This work would ideally be overseen by those involved in preaching (e.g. ministers) who can both create a commentary but also give it contemporary relevance
