- It happened at the end of twenty years, in which Solomon had built the house of Yahweh, and his own house,
- that the cities which Huram had given to Solomon, Solomon built them, and caused the children of Israel to dwell there.
- Solomon went to Hamath Zobah, and prevailed against it.
- He built Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the storage cities, which he built in Hamath.
- Also he built Beth Horon the upper, and Beth Horon the lower, fortified cities, with walls, gates, and bars;
- and Baalath, and all the storage cities that Solomon had, and all the cities for his chariots, and the cities for his horsemen, and all that Solomon desired to build for his pleasure in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.
- As for all the people who were left of the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of Israel;
- of their children who were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel didn't consume, of them Solomon conscripted forced labor to this day.
- But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no servants for his work; but they were men of war, and chief of his captains, and rulers of his chariots and of his horsemen.
- These were the chief officers of king Solomon, even two-hundred fifty, who ruled over the people.
- Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the city of David to the house that he had built for her; for he said, "My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places where the ark of Yahweh has come are holy."
- Then Solomon offered burnt offerings to Yahweh on the altar of Yahweh, which he had built before the porch,
- even as the duty of every day required, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the Sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the set feasts, three times in the year, [even] in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tents.
- He appointed, according to the ordinance of David his father, the divisions of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their offices, to praise, and to minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required; the doorkeepers also by their divisions at every gate: for so had David the man of God commanded.
- They didn't depart from the commandment of the king to the priests and Levites concerning any matter, or concerning the treasures.
- Now all the work of Solomon was prepared to the day of the foundation of the house of Yahweh, and until it was finished. [So] the house of Yahweh was completed.
- Then went Solomon to Ezion Geber, and to Eloth, on the seashore in the land of Edom.
- Huram sent him ships and servants who had knowledge of the sea by the hands of his servants; and they came with the servants of Solomon to Ophir, and fetched from there four hundred fifty talents of gold, and brought them to king Solomon.

- ויהי מקץ עשרים שנה אשר בנה שלמה את־בית יהוה ואת־ביתו׃
- והערים אשר נתן חורם לשלמה בנה שלמה אתם ויושב שם את־בני ישראל׃
- וילך שלמה חמת צובה ויחזק עליה׃
- ויבן את־תדמר במדבר ואת כל־ערי המסכנות אשר בנה בחמת׃
- ויבן את־בית חורון העליון ואת־בית חורון התחתון ערי מצור חומות דלתים ובריח׃
- ואת־בעלת ואת כל־ערי המסכנות אשר היו לשלמה ואת כל־ערי הרכב ואת ערי הפרשים ואת כל־חשק שלמה אשר חשק לבנות בירושלם ובלבנון ובכל ארץ ממשלתו׃
- כל־העם הנותר מן־החתי והאמרי והפרזי והחוי והיבוסי אשר לא מישראל המה׃
- מן־בניהם אשר נותרו אחריהם בארץ אשר לא־כלום בני ישראל ויעלם שלמה למס עד היום הזה׃
- ומן־בני ישראל אשר לא־נתן שלמה לעבדים למלאכתו כי־המה אנשי מלחמה ושרי שלישיו ושרי רכבו ופרשיו׃ ף
- ואלה שרי אשר־למלך שלמה חמשים ומאתים הרדים בעם׃
- ואת־בת־פרעה העלה שלמה מעיר דויד לבית אשר בנה־לה כי אמר לא־תשב אשה לי בבית דויד מלך־ישראל כי־קדש המה אשר־באה אליהם ארון יהוה׃ ף
- אז העלה שלמה עלות ליהוה על מזבח יהוה אשר בנה לפני האולם׃
- ובדבר־יום ביום להעלות כמצות משה לשבתות ולחדשים ולמועדות שלוש פעמים בשנה בחג המצות ובחג השבעות ובחג הסכות׃
- ויעמד כמשפט דויד־אביו את־מחלקות הכהנים על־עבדתם והלוים על־משמרותם להלל ולשרת נגד הכהנים לדבר־יום ביומו והשוערים במחלקותם לשער ושער כי כן מצות דויד איש־האלהים׃
- ולא סרו מצות המלך על־הכהנים והלוים לכל־דבר ולאצרות׃
- ותכן כל־מלאכת שלמה עד־היום מוסד בית־יהוה ועד־כלתו שלם בית יהוה׃ ס
- אז הלך שלמה לעציון־גבר ואל־אילות על־שפת הים בארץ אדום׃
- וישלח־לו חורם ביד־עבדיו ועבדים יודעי ים ויבאו עם־עבדי שלמה אופירה ויקחו משם ארבע־מאות וחמשים ככר זהב ויביאו אל־המלך שלמה׃ ף

- Expletis autem viginti annis postquam ædificavit Salomon domum Domini et domum suam,
- civitates, quas dederat Hiram Salomoni, ædificavit, et habitare ibi fecit filios Israël.
- Abiit quoque in Emath Suba, et obtinuit eam.
- Et ædificavit Palmyram in deserto, et alias civitates munitissimas ædificavit in Emath.
- Exstruxitque Bethoron superiorem, et Bethoron inferiorem, civitates muratas habentes portas et vectes et seras :
- Balaath etiam et omnes urbes firmissimas, quæ fuerunt Salomonis, cunctasque urbes quadrigarum, et urbes equitum. Omnia quæcumque voluit Salomon atque disposuit, ædificavit in Jerusalem et in Libano, et in universa terra potestatis suæ.
- Omnem populum, qui derelictus fuerat de Hethæis, et Amorrhæis, et Perezæis, et Hevæis, et Jebusæis, qui non erant de stirpe Israël,
- de filiis eorum : et de posteris, quos non interfecerant filii Israël, subjugavit Salomon in tributarios, usque in diem hanc.
- Porro de filiis Israël non posuit ut servirent operibus regis : ipsi enim erant viri bellatores, et duces primi et principes quadrigarum et equitum ejus.
- Omnes autem principes exercitus regis Salomonis fuerunt ducenti quinquaginta, qui erudiebant populum.
- Filiam vero Pharaonis transtulit de civitate David in domum, quam ædificaverat ei. Dixit enim rex : Non habitabit uxor mea in domo David regis Israël, eo quod sanctificata sit : quia ingressa est in eam arca Domini.
- Tunc obtulit Salomon holocausta Domino super altare Domini, quod exstruxerat ante porticum,
- ut per singulos dies offerretur in eo juxta præceptum Moysi in sabbatis et in calendis, et in festis diebus, ter per annum, id est, in solemnitate azymorum, et in solemnitatem hebdomadarum, et in solemnitate tabernaculorum.
- Et constituit juxta dispositionem David patris sui officia sacerdotum in ministeriis suis : et Levitas in ordine suo, ut laudarent, et ministrarent coram sacerdotibus juxta ritum uniuscujusque diei : et janitores in divisionibus suis per portam et portam : sic enim præceperat David homo Dei.
- Nec prætergressi sunt de mandatis regis tam sacerdotes quam Levitæ, ex omnibus, quæ præceperat, et in custodiis thesaurorum.
- Omnes impensas præparatas habuit Salomon ex eo die, quo fundavit domum Domini usque in diem, quo perfecit eam.
- Tunc abiit Salomon in Asiongaber, et in Ailath ad oram maris Rubri, quæ est in terra Edom.
- Misit autem ei Hiram per manus servorum suorum naves, et nautas gnaros maris, et abierunt cum servis Salomonis in Ophir, tuleruntque inde quadringenta quinquaginta talenta auri, et attulerunt ad regem Salomonem.

- And Solomon went to Hamath-zobah, and prevailed against it.
- And he built Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the store cities, which he built in Hamath.
- Also he built Beth-horon the upper, and Beth-horon the nether, fenced cities, with walls, gates, and bars;
- And Baalath, and all the store cities that Solomon had, and all the chariot cities, and the cities of the horsemen, and all that Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and throughout all the land of his dominion.
- As for all the people that were left of the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which were not of Israel,

- And they departed not from the commandment of the king unto the priests and Levites concerning any matter, or concerning the treasures.
- Now all the work of Solomon was prepared unto the day of the foundation of the house of the LORD, and until it was finished. So the house of the LORD was perfected.
- Then went Solomon to Ezion-geber, and to Eloth, at the sea side in the land of Edom.
