- Afterward he brought me to the gate, even the gate that looks toward the east.
- Behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like the sound of many waters; and the earth shined with his glory.
- It was according to the appearance of the vision which I saw, even according to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city; and the visions were like the vision that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell on my face.
- The glory of Yahweh came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east.
- The Spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and behold, the glory of Yahweh filled the house.
- I heard one speaking to me out of the house; and a man stood by me.
- He said to me, Son of man, [this is] the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel forever. The house of Israel shall no more defile my holy name, neither they, nor their kings, by their prostitution, and by the dead bodies of their kings [in] their high places;
- in their setting of their threshold by my threshold, and their doorpost beside my doorpost, and there was [but] the wall between me and them; and they have defiled my holy name by their abominations which they have committed: therefore I have consumed them in my anger.
- Now let them put away their prostitution, and the dead bodies of their kings, far from me; and I will dwell in the midst of them forever.
- You, son of man, show the house to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities; and let them measure the pattern.
- If they be ashamed of all that they have done, make known to them the form of the house, and its fashion, and its exits, and its entrances, and all its forms, and all its ordinances, and all its forms, and all its laws; and write it in their sight; that they may keep the whole form of it, and all its ordinances, and do them.
- This is the law of the house: on the top of the mountain the whole limit around it shall be most holy. Behold, this is the law of the house.
- These are the measures of the altar by cubits (the cubit is a cubit and a handbreadth): the bottom shall be a cubit, and the breadth a cubit, and its border around its edge a span; and this shall be the base of the altar.
- From the bottom on the ground to the lower ledge shall be two cubits, and the breadth one cubit; and from the lesser ledge to the greater ledge shall be four cubits, and the breadth a cubit.
- The upper altar shall be four cubits; and from the altar hearth and upward there shall be four horns.
- The altar hearth shall be twelve [cubits] long by twelve broad, square in the four sides of it.
- The ledge shall be fourteen [cubits] long by fourteen broad in the four sides of it; and the border about it shall be half a cubit; and its bottom shall be a cubit around; and its steps shall look toward the east.
- He said to me, Son of man, thus says the Lord Yahweh: These are the ordinances of the altar in the day when they shall make it, to offer burnt offerings thereon, and to sprinkle blood thereon.
- You shall give to the priests the Levites who are of the seed of Zadok, who are near to me, to minister to me, says the Lord Yahweh, a young bull for a sin offering.
- You shall take of its blood, and put it on the four horns of it, and on the four corners of the ledge, and on the border all around: thus you shall cleanse it and make atonement for it.
- You shall also take the bull of the sin offering, and it shall be burnt in the appointed place of the house, outside of the sanctuary.
- On the second day you shall offer a male goat without blemish for a sin offering; and they shall cleanse the altar, as they did cleanse it with the bull.
- When you have finished cleansing it, you shall offer a young bull without blemish, and a ram out of the flock without blemish.
- You shall bring them near to Yahweh, and the priests shall cast salt on them, and they shall offer them up for a burnt offering to Yahweh.
- Seven days you shall prepare every day a goat for a sin offering: they shall also prepare a young bull, and a ram out of the flock, without blemish.
- Seven days shall they make atonement for the altar and purify it; so shall they consecrate it.
- When they have accomplished the days, it shall be that on the eighth day, and forward, the priests shall make your burnt offerings on the altar, and your peace offerings; and I will accept you, says the Lord Yahweh.

- ויולכני אל־השער שער אשר פנה דרך הקדים׃
- והנה כבוד אלהי ישראל בא מדרך הקדים וקולו כקול מים רבים והארץ האירה מכבדו׃
- וכמראה המראה אשר ראיתי כמראה אשר־ראיתי בבאי לשחת את־העיר ומראות כמראה אשר ראיתי אל־נהר־כבר ואפל אל־פני׃
- וכבוד יהוה בא אל־הבית דרך שער אשר פניו דרך הקדים׃
- ותשאני רוח ותביאני אל־החצר הפנימי והנה מלא כבוד־יהוה הבית׃
- ואשמע מדבר אלי מהבית ואיש היה עמד אצלי׃
- ויאמר אלי בן־אדם את־מקום כסאי ואת־מקום כפות רגלי אשר אשכן־שם בתוך בני־ישראל לעולם ולא יטמאו עוד בית־ישראל שם קדשי המה ומלכיהם בזנותם ובפגרי מלכיהם במותם׃
- בתתם ספם את־ספי ומזוזתם אצל מזוזתי והקיר ביני וביניהם וטמאו את־שם קדשי בתועבותם אשר עשו ואכל אתם באפי׃
- עתה ירחקו את־זנותם ופגרי מלכיהם ממני ושכנתי בתוכם לעולם׃ ס
- אתה בן־אדם הגד את־בית־ישראל את־הבית ויכלמו מעונותיהם ומדדו את־תכנית׃
- ואם־נכלמו מכל אשר־עשו צורת הבית ותכונתו ומוצאיו ומובאיו וכל־צורתוק ואת כל־חקתיו וכל־ וכל־ הודע אותם וכתב לעיניהם וישמרו את־כל־צורתו ואת־כל־חקתיו ועשו אותם׃
- זאת תורת הבית על־ראש ההר כל־גבלו סביב סביב קדש קדשים הנה־זאת תורת הבית׃
- ואלה מדות המזבח באמות אמה אמה וטפח וחיק האמה ואמה־רחב וגבולה אל־שפתה סביב זרת האחד וזה גב המזבח׃
- ומחיק הארץ עד־העזרה התחתונה שתים אמות ורחב אמה אחת ומהעזרה הקטנה עד־העזרה הגדולה ארבע אמות ורחב האמה׃
- וההראל ארבע אמות ולמעלה הקרנות ארבע׃
- שתים עשרה ארך בשתים עשרה רחב רבוע אל ארבעת רבעיו׃
- והעזרה ארבע עשרה ארך בארבע עשרה רחב אל ארבעת רבעיה והגבול סביב אותה חצי האמה והחיק־לה אמה סביב ומעלתהו פנות קדים׃
- ויאמר אלי בן־אדם כה אמר אדני יהוה אלה חקות המזבח ביום העשותו להעלות עליו עולה ולזרק עליו דם׃
- ונתתה אל־הכהנים הלוים אשר הם מזרע צדוק הקרבים אלי נאם אדני יהוה לשרתני פר בן־בקר לחטאת׃
- ולקחת מדמו ונתתה על־ארבע קרנתיו ואל־ארבע פנות העזרה ואל־הגבול סביב וחטאת אותו וכפרתהו׃
- ולקחת את הפר החטאת ושרפו במפקד הבית מחוץ למקדש׃
- וביום השני תקריב שעיר־עזים תמים לחטאת וחטאו את־המזבח כאשר חטאו בפר׃
- בכלותך מחטא תקריב פר בן־בקר תמים ואיל מן־הצאן תמים׃
- והקרבתם לפני יהוה והשליכו הכהנים עליהם מלח והעלו אותם עלה ליהוה׃
- שבעת ימים תעשה שעיר־חטאת ליום ופר בן־בקר ואיל מן־הצאן תמימים יעשו׃
- שבעת ימים יכפרו את־המזבח וטהרו אתו ומלאו ׃
- ויכלו את־הימים ס והיה ביום השמיני והלאה יעשו הכהנים על־המזבח את־עולותיכם ואת־שלמיכם ורצאתי אתכם נאם אדני יהוה׃ ס

- Et duxit me ad portam quæ respiciebat ad viam orientalem.
- Et ecce gloria Dei Israël ingrediebatur per viam orientalem : et vox erat ei quasi vox aquarum multarum, et terra splendebat a majestate ejus.
- Et vidi visionem secundum speciem quam videram, quando venit ut disperderet civitatem : et species secundum aspectum quem videram juxta fluvium Chobar : et cecidi super faciem meam.
- Et majestas Domini ingressa est templum per viam portæ quæ respiciebat ad orientem.
- Et elevavit me spiritus, et introduxit me in atrium interius : et ecce repleta erat gloria Domini domus.
- Et audivi loquentem ad me de domo : et vir qui stabat juxta me
- dixit ad me : Fili hominis, locus solii mei, et locus vestigiorum pedum meorum, ubi habito in medio filiorum Israël in æternum : et non polluent ultra domus Israël nomen sanctum meum, ipsi et reges eorum, in fornicationibus suis, et in ruinis regum suorum, et in excelsis.
- Qui fabricati sunt limen suum juxta limen meum, et postes suos juxta postes meos, et murus erat inter me et eos : et polluerunt nomen sanctum meum in abominationibus quas fecerunt : propter quod consumpsi eos in ira mea.
- Nunc ergo repellant procul fornicationem suam et ruinas regum suorum a me, et habitabo in medio eorum semper.
- Tu autem, fili hominis, ostende domui Israël templum, et confundantur ab iniquitatibus suis, et metiantur fabricam,
- et erubescant ex omnibus quæ fecerunt. Figuram domus, et fabricæ ejus, exitus et introitus, et omnem descriptionem ejus, et universa præcepta ejus, cunctumque ordinem ejus, et omnes leges ejus ostende eis, et scribes in oculis eorum, ut custodiant omnes descriptiones ejus, et præcepta illius, et faciant ea.
- Ista est lex domus in summitate montis : omnis finis ejus in circuitu, Sanctum sanctorum est. Hæc est ergo lex domus.
- Istæ autem mensuræ altaris in cubito verissimo, qui habebat cubitum et palmum : in sinu ejus erat cubitus, et cubitus in latitudine : et definitio ejus usque ad labium ejus, et in circuitu palmus unus : hæc quoque erat fossa altaris.
- Et de sinu terræ usque ad crepidinem novissimam duo cubiti, et latitudo cubiti unius : et a crepidine minore usque ad crepidinem majorem quatuor cubiti, et latitudo cubiti unius.
- Ipse autem Ariel quatuor cubitorum, et ab Ariel usque ad sursum cornua quatuor.
- Et Ariel duodecim cubitorum in longitudine per duodecim cubitos latitudinis, quadrangulatum æquis lateribus.
- Et crepido quatuordecim cubitorum longitudinis per quatuordecim cubitos latitudinis in quatuor angulis ejus : et corona in circuitu ejus dimidii cubiti, et sinus ejus unius cubiti per circuitum : gradus autem ejus versi ad orientem.
- Et dixit ad me : Fili hominis, hæc dicit Dominus Deus : Hi sunt ritus altaris, in quacumque die fuerit fabricatum, ut offeratur super illud holocaustum, et effundatur sanguis.
- Et dabis sacerdotibus et Levitis qui sunt de semine Sadoc, qui accedunt ad me, ait Dominus Deus, ut offerant mihi vitulum de armento pro peccato.
- Et assumens de sanguine ejus, pones super quatuor cornua ejus, et super quatuor angulos crepidinis, et super coronam in circuitu : et mundabis illud et expiabis.
- Et tolles vitulum qui oblatus fuerit pro peccato, et combures eum in separato loco domus, extra sanctuarium.
- Et in die secunda offeres hircum caprarum immaculatum pro peccato : et expiabunt altare sicut expiaverunt in vitulo.
- Cumque compleveris expians illud, offeres vitulum de armento immaculatum, et arietem de grege immaculatum.
- Et offeres eos in conspectu Domini : et mittent sacerdotes super eos sal, et offerent eos holocaustum Domino.
- Septem diebus facies hircum pro peccato quotidie : et vitulum de armento, et arietem de pecoribus immaculatos offerent.
- Septem diebus expiabunt altare et mundabunt illud, et implebunt manum ejus.
- Expletis autem diebus, in die octava et ultra, facient sacerdotes super altare holocausta vestra, et quæ pro pace offerunt : et placatus ero vobis, ait Dominus Deus.

- And the glory of the LORD came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east.
- So the spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and, behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house.
- And I heard him speaking unto me out of the house; and the man stood by me.
- And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever, and my holy name, shall the house of Israel no more defile, neither they, nor their kings, by their whoredom, nor by the carcases of their kings in their high places.
- In their setting of their threshold by my thresholds, and their post by my posts, and the wall between me and them, they have even defiled my holy name by their abominations that they have committed: wherefore I have consumed them in mine anger.
- Now let them put away their whoredom, and the carcases of their kings, far from me, and I will dwell in the midst of them for ever.
- Thou son of man, shew the house to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities: and let them measure the pattern.

- And these are the measures of the altar after the cubits: The cubit is a cubit and an hand breadth; even the bottom shall be a cubit, and the breadth a cubit, and the border thereof by the edge thereof round about shall be a span: and this shall be the higher place of the altar.
- And from the bottom upon the ground even to the lower settle shall be two cubits, and the breadth one cubit; and from the lesser settle even to the greater settle shall be four cubits, and the breadth one cubit.
- So the altar shall be four cubits; and from the altar and upward shall be four horns.
- And the altar shall be twelve cubits long, twelve broad, square in the four squares thereof.
- And the settle shall be fourteen cubits long and fourteen broad in the four squares thereof; and the border about it shall be half a cubit; and the bottom thereof shall be a cubit about; and his stairs shall look toward the east.
- And he said unto me, Son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; These are the ordinances of the altar in the day when they shall make it, to offer burnt offerings thereon, and to sprinkle blood thereon.
- And thou shalt give to the priests the Levites that be of the seed of Zadok, which approach unto me, to minister unto me, saith the Lord GOD, a young bullock for a sin offering.

- When thou hast made an end of cleansing it, thou shalt offer a young bullock without blemish, and a ram out of the flock without blemish.
- And thou shalt offer them before the LORD, and the priests shall cast salt upon them, and they shall offer them up for a burnt offering unto the LORD.
- Seven days shalt thou prepare every day a goat for a sin offering: they shall also prepare a young bullock, and a ram out of the flock, without blemish.
- Seven days shall they purge the altar and purify it; and they shall consecrate themselves.
- And when these days are expired, it shall be, that upon the eighth day, and so forward, the priests shall make your burnt offerings upon the altar, and your peace offerings; and I will accept you, saith the Lord GOD.
