Peace a general sense means a state of quiet or tranquillity; freedom from disturbance or agitation; applicable to society, to individuals, or to the temper of the mind.

In an evangelical [[Christian]] perspective, peace with [[God]] means accepting that you are [[sinner]] for we all are sinners, rebelled against God, thus disturbing the peace with God! The path to restoring peace is through accepting the [[salvation]] offered though the blood of [[Jesus Christ]] shed on the [[cross]] of [[Calvary]] so our sins can be forgiven and the righteousness of [[Jesus Christ]] be bestowed on us through faith. This doctrine is called [[justification by faith]].

Christians believe that [[God]] is the source of peace. God alone is the source of peace, for he is "Yahweh Shalom" (see [[Judges 6:24]] ).
