Distributism is an economic philosophy that attempts to apply the Christian teachings of social justice and the dignity of the human being to how economies and political structures should be conducted. Its principals were developed by [[Catholic]] thinkers and writers such as [[G.K. Chesterton]] and [[Hilaire Belloc]], who were influenced by the Church. Papal encyclicals by [[Pope Leo XIII]], [[Pope Pius XI]], and [[Pope John Paul II]] have played a part in the development of distributism.
