View on Blood Transfusions
The Jehovah's Witnesses are well known for their refusal to receive God told Noah and his family that "...blood transfusions, you shall not eat. This is based on their interpretation on a number of passages in the Bible. These include " (Genesis 9:3-4 where God commanded Noah and his family to not eat blood) He then reiterated this in the Law of Moses, or the Mosaic Law. Again in (Leviticus 7:26 and ; 17:10; Deuteronomy 12:16 this command in re-iterated. Mainstream Christians argue however ) Many believe that after the JehovahMosiac Law was abolished by Christ's Witnesses are mistaken because the specifics of death that the Mosaic Law do against blood does not apply . However, in a list of things that Christians were forbidden to Christiansdo, having since there was confusion because the Law had been abolished by Christ's death, the disciples said that Christians were supposed to abstain completely from blood. (Acts 15:28, 29) To illustrate: If a doctor told a man that he was to drink no more alcohol, would it be okay for the man to insert the alcohol into his veins? Hardly. Since God told man to abstain from blood, inserting it into your veins would not be abstaining from blood.
