Romans 3:23, for example, explains that each person has sinned, failing to completely love God and each other and fallen short of the glory of God. Later in Romans, in chapter 6, verse 23, the apostle Paul explains that sin brings about death.
Despite our imperfections and failings that separate humans from a perfect and holy God and bring us death, Scripture reveals that God loves us. Although nothing we do can restore us to a right relationship with God, God himself restores that relationship. It is only through faith in to those who call out to Jesus Christ, trusting in his death and resurrection, that we can return to God. Passages such as Romans 5:8, John 3:16 and Romans 3:24 attest to this
