Here was the [[Palace (EBD)|palace ]] which was the residence of the old Median monarchs, and of [[Cyrus (EBD)|Cyrus ]] and [[wikipedia:Cambyses|Cambyses]]. In the time of [[Ezra(EBD)|Ezra]], the [[Persia (EBD)|Persian ]] [[King (EBD)|kings ]] resided usually at [[Wikipedia:Susa |Susa]] of [[Babylon (EBD)|Babylon]]. But Cyrus held his court at Achmetha; and Ezra, writing a century after, correctly mentions the place where the decree of Cyrus was found.
