2 Kings, chapter 23, recounts the story of King [[Josiah]] renewing the [[Sinai covenant]], with the people agreeing to be obedient to the laws [[God]] gave [[Moses]]. Josiah brought about the end of pagan religions in the southern kingdom of Judah, centralizing worship in Jerusalem.
