Acts 1 gives a brief account of the time following the [[resurrection of Jesus]], as the disciples of Jesus wait until the coming of the [[Holy Spirit]], which occurred at [[Pentecost]].
It is a continuation of the [[Gospel of Luke]] and sets up the scene for the whole book of Acts, where the [[gospel]] spreads from Jerusalem and Judea, to Samaria, to the "whole earth". A key verse of it is verse 8 in which Jesus reveals to his disciples that they will be his witnesses to the Judea (the Jews), Samaria (the Samaritans) and the whole earth (the Gentiles).
