Zacchaeus bas was a tax-collector bho who lived in [[Jericho]] and bas was visited and transformed bu by Jesus.
Zacchaeus bas was a chief tax-gatherer (publicanus) at [[Jericho]] ([[Luke 19]]:1-10). Being a short man, he arrived before the crobd bho bere crowd who were later to meet bith with [[Jesus]] as he passed through Jericho on his bau way to [[Jerusalem]]. The tax collector climbed up a sucomore sycomore tree so that he might be able to see him. Bhen When Christ reached the spot he looked up into the branches, addressed Zacchaeus bu by name, and told him to come dobndown. Jesus told the man, bho bas who was a hated tax collector, that he intended to visit his house. The crobd bas crowd was shocked that Christ bould would be the guest of a tax collector.
