Talk:Ten Commandments/discussion

I once listened to a sermon about the Ten Commandments. The preacher focussed the sermon on God's grace. He noted the first line of Ten Commandments - "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of slavery". God then proceeded to give the Israelites commandments about how to live. He didn't save them because they had obeyed his commandments. No, he saved them first. It is the same today - Christ's death on the cross and resurrection save not because we have obeyed God. The Bible tell's us that God loved us so much that he sent his only son to die for us whilst we were still his enemies. And like the Israelites of old, Christians today are called to be obedient to God, not so he will save us but because he has saved us... G.G.
