Text
"But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." (Genesis 2.17) |
"But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die." (Genesis 3.3) |
Problem
God says Adam and Eve will die that same day they eat the fruit, but they don't die until hundreds of years later.
