New Orthodox patriach for Jerusalem (August 22, 2005)

A new patriach for Jerusalem has been elected by The Greek Orthodox Church. Theofilos replaces Irineos as the new patriach of the 100,000 Christians in Palestine and Israel. Irineos was removed from his position after controversy in which he has been accused of selling Church land.
