Salvation is the term used to describe the work of God in saving his people from sin and condemnation, resulting in righteousness (being forgiven) and eternal life. In theology, the study of salvation is called soteriology, from the Greek soteria meaning “salvation”.
Salvation is a very important Christian spiritual concept. The Bible reveals that all people need to be redeemed, or forgiven from their sin. It teaches that humanity was created sinless, but after the Fall, a Savior, Jesus, was needed to restore people into a right relationship with God.
