{{stub}}The first chapter of [[Apostle Paul|Paul]]'s letter to the church in Rome opens with Paul introducing himself and the gospel for which he stands to a church that he had never visited. A key verse in the chapter is verse 17 in which Paul states the eternal truth that the righteous live by faith, which is one of the main theological points of the letter. In the second half of the chapter Paul focusses on the degeneration of humanity who lose their faith in the true God in favour of images and idols.
